We are constantly on the lookout for cool new stuff.....products and procedures that actually work for our patients. Here are some of the latest fun things happening in our office.

Gloss Cream Featured in December 2011 Allure Magazine Article! It names TCA as a "Hot Ingredient" and points out "We're seeing more evidence-backed skin care formulations and far less hype in a jar." Our sources at Young Pharmaceuticals, aka SkinLuma, are excited about the attention that Gloss Cream is getting. Apparently their phones are ringing off the hook with folks wanting to know where they can buy it.

Gloss Skin Retexturing Cream

This is a brand-new product from Young Pharmaceuticals and it may prove to be our favorite... right up there with Eye Doctor and C + E with Ferulic Acid, it's that good. What makes this product special is that even our patients with the most sensitive skin can use it! This one is a bit hard to explain so please bear with us.

Some of the active ingredients are clinically effective but can be scary and harsh- like TCA and retinoids. The rest are antioxidants we know and love- Vitamin C, E and Ferulic acid, easily tolerated by most, but can irritate our sensitive folks.

Young explains that this is because the active ingredients go through an esterification process making them able to penetrate deep into the skin quickly without irritation. They showed us all the scientific literature and clinical studies, with long chemical chains, demonstrating the process, but still. Could it really make such a difference? Yes. We are now believers.

So here's what happened: Josh, our rep from Young Pharmaceuticals, told us about Gloss Cream and we decided to test it on the person in the office with the most reactive skin ever- Dr. Reath's wife Lisa. Here's what she had to say,

"I often have skin care envy because I have so many allergies and my skin is crazy-sensitive. So I was very skeptical when Heather and Josh suggested I try the Gloss Cream, especially since it contains Retinoids, which my skin can't tolerate. Then to add the TCA, even in a low daily dose, mixed with all the antioxidants, well I thought my skin would go nuts.
