Botox for Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Botox and Dysport have many other medical uses besides wrinkle-reduction. One of the most helpful is for controlling Hyperhidrosis, a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably. People who are candidates for being treated with Botox for sweating usually perspire even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. Many people who suffer from this condition tell us that they get nervous because they sweat, then sweat more because they are nervous. It affects both men and women.

Botox can be a life-changing, temporary treatment for those suffering from severe underarm sweating. Both Botox and Dysport are FDA-approved for the treatment primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Small doses are injected into the underarm areas to temporarily block the nerves that stimulate sweating. Treatment with Botox for sweating lasts from 7 to 9 months.
