Fifty Shades….Of Sunscreen

Our fabulous aesthetician tells all:Fifty Shades of Sunscreen
Here at our office we are big believers in sunscreen. Especially after treating so many patients with premature aging of their skin due to years of unprotected exposure…to the sun I mean.

Chemical peels, IPL and good skin care can whip your skin into shape. But I get tired of seeing eyes glaze over everytime I reveal the most important skin care secret: sunscreen. Wearing sunscreen every day is the most important thing you can do to keep your skin young-looking and avoid skin cancer.

So to get your attention to this very important health issue, I thought I would take a completely different approach and explain why wearing sunscreen is actually a seriously sexy thing to do. Don’t laugh, the staff and I have worked very hard on this one. Here goes:

Healthy Fun For Couples

You are going to need some help getting your sunscreen on those hard to reach places like your back and shoulders. Doctors recommend that sunscreen should be applied 15 minutes BEFORE going outdoors. Hmmmm. And you should reapply it often.

Another Use For Your Shot Glass
Most people only apply 25-50% of the recommended amount of sunscreen. One ounce, enough to fill a shot glass, is the exact amount you should be applying.
Think about all the erogenous zones on your body that will be not be covered by clothing. Apply sunscreen to your ears, your feet, your lips and even…gasp…the backs of your knees.

Adults Only
Americans acquire only 23 percent of their sun damage by age 18 and get about 10 percent more every decade after that. So never think, “It’s too late. I blew it. The damage is done. I’ll just keep tanning”. This is one vice that you can change “laters baby”.

Leather and Lace, But Not For Your Face
Although leather can be very, very sexy, having leathery skin definitely is not. Hopefully I’ve gotten your attention so you won’t be turning into Fifty Shades of Brown Spots. Sunscreen helps you maintain your young-looking, healthy skin, and isn’t that the sexiest thing of all? You know you want it. Bow-chica-wow-wow

Marilyn. Good to hear from you. Many people without much regard for sunscreen and some, even older individuals, didn’t have any sunscreens available to them. Glad you using it now!
    Thanks for you comment.
    All the best,
    David B.
