My New Skin Care Addiction

TNS SerumFew things in my business change as much as skin care lines. Some of these changes we like, others not so much.

Our most recent change has been to bring in SkinMedica skin care products. These come from Allergan, our good friend who also brings us Botox, fillers such as Juvederm and Voluma, CoolSculpting and our breast implants. (Seems like Allergan is our Santa Claus.) My absolute favorite of these new products is the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum.

Several years ago, I shocked the skin care world (not really), by claiming that I have found what I termed “crack for the skin.” I was talking about Societe’s Intense Firming Complex, aka IFC. This continues to be a great product which I still use.

But, I must make a very personal and fearless confession that I am truly and totally addicted to the TNS Essential Serum. This product is a game-changer for my skin. And while no one wants to be addicted to anything, I’m not looking for a cure for this one!

Clearly I am having some fun here, but TNS is a product that really works. I have been using this day and night for about a month, and my skin has never looked better. I can both see and feel a difference — which is quite something for having used it for a short period of time. Literally, I will not leave home without this and I dread the day that I push down on the pump of the bottle and nothing comes out. (But they anticipated this and a white line appears on a small window on the bottle when you are almost out. Crisis averted!)

This product was a long time in development. SkinMedica placed TNS serum as the cornerstone of their product line for good reason, and I’m not the only one who thinks so.

There are many other Skin Medica products which dovetail quite well with TNS. The most important of which is HA5, a skin hydrator like no other.

In my office, we are all somewhat skeptical, yeah verily cynical, when it comes to new skin care lines. There is a lot of snake oil out there. If we bring in a line, we want it to work, and we want it to be something we are excited about using.

Perhaps we have been a little slow to the game in not bringing this line in sooner, as it’s the best-selling medical skin care line in the country. But no worries. We have it now and I cannot foresee a circumstance where we would not have.

As a TV commercial from my youth said, “Try it, you’ll like it!” I invite you to do just that. I look forward to putting this on my face every day and night, and I know you will too.

    Dear Linda,
Skin care products containing growth factors are really quite different than Tretinoin and other retinol products. So it’s difficult to say which is better. They should probably be used in conjunction with each other.
I recommend for morning use, a cleanser, growth factor products, a vitamin C product, a moisturizer (HA5) and sunscreen. For the evening I recommend a cleanser, growth factors, retinol product and a moisturizer or HA5.
    Sincerely yours,
